SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Wicken Fen - GREAT GREY SHRIKE from Adventurer's Fen end of Harrison's Drove (as per Louise Bacon)

Woodwalton Fen - 2 Bittern, Woodcock (Mike Weedon)

Ouse Washes RSPB - 22 Eurasian White-fronted Geese, Scaup, 120+ Black-tailed Godwit; also Water Pipit, 30+ Dunlin at Chain Corner (Brendan Doe)

Ouse Fen - 2 Water Pipit, 2 Bearded Tit, 3+ Cetti's Warbler, 8+ Marsh harrier (Matt Mellor)

Eversdens - 3 Short-eared Owl from Mare Way (Louise Bacon)

Cambridge - 70 Golden Plover between Histon Road and old NIAB site (Ben Greig); 2 WAXWING reported at corner of Rustat and Greville Roads (Richard Thomas)
