Melbourn - GREAT GREY SHRIKE c.TL382456. Appeared at 11 in the hedge on the other side of the farm gate from the orchard, then crossed the field to the trees along the A10. Was still there, perched on a fence between the field and the road embankment, at  11.45. (Nick Langley).

The village college and several businesses that are along this road make mornings between 8-9.00 am a bit chaotic. This area is popular with dog walkers also so the bird will be flushed on occasions but seems quite confiding otherwise if viewed from a sensible distance. The Allotments are private but no one should need to go in here PLEASE DO NOT trespass on private land.

Sutton Gault - 20+ Water Pipit to roost, south of the Gullet. Also Short-eared Owl, 3 Barn Owl (Ian Dawson)
