SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Burwell Fen - GREAT GREY SHRIKE in Pout Hall area but very mobile, c.1000 Lapwing, c.1000 Golden Plover, 2 Short-eared Owl (David Palmer)

Cambridge - Peregrine on King's College Chapel (Peter Louden)

Eldernell - 2 Short-eared Owl, Barn Owl, Peregrine (Steve Dudley)

Nene washes - CATTLE EGRET on Low Wash (Charlie Kitchin)

Wicken Fen - male Hen Harrier, 2 Tawny Owl, 4 Cetti's Warbler, 6 Water Rail (Colin Kirtland)

Great Fen - 4 Short-eared Owl from c.16:30h (Kevan Wolstencroft)
