Paxton Pits - BLACK-WINGED STILT 13:00h still;  also CURLEW SANDPIPER, Turnstone, Sanderling, 13 Greenshank, 2 Avocet, 4 Wheatear, Hobby (Martin Davis); Grey Plover, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit (Owen Marks)

Park carefully by sewage works SE of Buckden at Stirtloe. Follow Anglian Water road south and the then east to pumphouse pit, continue along north side of pit/road, then walk carefully down east side of this pit (making sure not to flush birds on flooded field). At south end of pumphouse pit, take muddy track to east and view flooded field from metal gate. This is quite some walk, so allow at least 30 minutes to get there. It seems that the moorings are still under flood.
Please do not walk around other areas of the pits, as they are still run by the quarry company, and be cautious at all times not to flush birds or upset the landowner, as access right here are a subject still being discussed.
Do not park at Diddington.
