SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Wicken Fen - WILLOW TIT at the Butterfly Trail, Pintail, 2 Barn Owls, Hen Harrier (Matt Mellor)

Ferry Meadows - 3 Avocet swimming on Gunwade Lake (Matt Webb)

Ouse Washes - 60 Black-tailed Godwits, 22 Ruff, 25 Dunlin, 10 Siskin, 2 Buzzard, Smew (Mike Burdekin)

Fen Drayton Lakes - 7 Goosanders, Smew, Cetti's Warblers, c.20 Siskins (Neil Renwick)

Nene Washes, Low Wash -  2 Water Pipits, 2 Cranes, c.150 Dunlin, c.3000 Golden Plovers, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, fem Hen Harrier (Mike Weedon)

Nene Washes, March Farmers - c.150 Dunlin, 2000+ Golden Plovers, 300+ Black-tailed Godwit, escaped Greater Flamingo (Mike Weedon)
