SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Fen Drayton - 1,213 Wigeon, 3 Pintail, 3 Red-crested Pochard, 4 Little Egrets and Green Sandpiper, 2 Peregrine, 6 Common Buzzards (Richard Patient)

Paxton Pits - juv. BLACK-NECKED GREBE, on Pumphouse Pit, 3 Little Egret, 2 Common Buzzard, 6 Pintail, 3 Greenshank, 2 Blackcap (Martin Davis/Jamie Wells)

Haddenham Fen - adult male GOSHAWK over Long Drove for c5 mins at 11.40, then moved off slowly towards Sutton, 2 Merlin (Mark Hawkes, Duncan Poyser)

Isleham Water Meadows - Wheatear (Mark Hawkes)

Midloe Grange Farm - juv Spotted Flycatcher (Martin Shreeves)
