SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Southey Wood - 5+ Crossbill near the main track at TF108027 this morning (Brian Stone)

Grafham Water - 2 Turnstone on the dam this morning (Colin Addington)

Fen Drayton - Wood Sandpiper, Greenshank on Holywell (Mike Clydesdale); Bittern flew out of reeds on Holywell 12:15h, also 8 Green Sandpiper & 2 Little Egret on the reserve (Andy Cotton)

Cam Washes, Waterbeach - 16 Avocet, 8 Greenshank, c.15 Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, 2 Ruff, 6 Little Egret, Cuckoo (Jonathan & David Heath)
