SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Anglesey Abbey - 2 male Reeve's Pheasant (Peter Wells)

Thorney - GREAT GREY SHRIKE 08:30h. In the tops of trees in the small copse just north of the section of bypass between the first two roundabouts (coming from Peterborough), at TF273045. When here, best viewed from the mobile cafe at the eastbound pull in between the roundabouts at TF276046 (Brian Stone, John Saunders)

Little Shelford - GREAT WHITE EGRET over north-northwest 09:30h (Ali Cooper)

Murrow - c.50 Whooper Swans over (Marie Barton)

Cam Washes, Upware - 3 Avocet, Spotted Redshank, Green Sandpiper (Bruce & Gwen Martin)

Ely - Short-eared Owl between the city and Little Thetford (Mark Grooms)

Buckden Tip - 6 Whooper Swan over (Tony Burrin)
