SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Wicken Fen - SAVI'S WARBLER singing, distant  but audible, from West Mere Hide. Also 3 Garganey, 4 Hobby, Greenshank, 4 Grasshopper Warbler (Brendan Doe)

Swaffham Prior - QUAIL calling at dusk, on the eastern side of the B1102, where the road to exits the village to the south (Claire Spottiswoode, Rose Ferraby, Tim Dee)
