SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Grafham Water - possible adult Black-tailed Gull briefly in flight at 6.42pm (Stuart Elsom); Shag, 15 Redpoll, 5+ Yellow-legged Gulls, 10 House Martins (Mark Hawkes); Rock Pipit, Common Sandpiper (David Russell)

Ferry Meadows - fem Wheatear (Don Gardener)

Colne - 2 Crossbills over 08:30h (Mark Eaton)

Ouse Washes - 45 Whooper Swan, 11 Bewick Swan, 50+ Ruff, fem Wheatear (Mike Burdekin)

Fen Drayton Lakes - Bittern, Cetti's Warbler, 3 Green Sandpiper (Andy Cotton)

Abbots Ripton - escaped Lilac-breasted Roller in the area, mostly on private land, but wide-ranging (Stuart Elsom).
