SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Fen Drayton - 5 Grasshopper Warblers, 9 Cetti's Warblers, 4 Little Ringed Plovers, 10 Ringed Plovers, 2 Dunlins, 1 Common Sandpiper, drake Garganeys on Elney Lake and by the river, drake Pintail and Egyptian Goose, 8 Common Buzzards, 4 Marsh Harriers, 3 Hobbies and 3 Swifts (Richard Patient); 5 Wheatears along the approach track (Dennis Hall)

Woodwalton Fen - 12 Grasshopper Warblers, 3 Barn Owl, 3 Woodcock, 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Cuckoo, 2 Nightingale (Mark Eaton)

Devil's Dyke - 8 Wheatear in a field just north of the B1061 (Jan Hein)

Sutton Gault – Greenshank, 2 Little Ringed plover, Grasshopper Warbler, Turtle Dove, Little Owl, 6 Yellow wagtail (Audrey and Gwyn Williams)

Cam Washes - Little Gull (Kathleen Rosewarne, Ian Barton)

Castor Mill - RING OUZEL (Mike Weedon)

Hampton - RAVEN over west at 1pm (Howard Butler)

Wicken Fen - pair of Bearded Tits, 2 Hobbies, 2 Cetti's Warblers (Dave Griffiths)

Coates - Wheatear, Barn Owl, male Marsh Harrier south of the village (Ken & Maggie Hook)
