SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Grafham Water - 1st-winter male VELVET SCOTER still by dam, RED-NECKED GREBE, GREAT NORTHERN DIVER, 2 Scaup and 2 Red-crested Pochard at Savages creek (Mark Piercey)

Fen Drayton Lakes - 6 Smew, 4 Goosander, c250 Black-tailed Godwit, 9 Pintail, Little Egret (Richard Allison) Marsh Harrier, Bittern (Nigel Sprowell)

Paxton Pits - 3 Bearded Tits still on north side of Rudd Lake today. (Steve May)
