SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Paxton Pits - Grey Plover, Greenshank, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Teal, Red-crested Pochard and Grasshopper Warbler this morning (Martin Davis, Jamie Wells et al.); Tree Sparrow (Gary Rawlings/Neal Parkin); Black Tern, 4 Yellow Legged Gulls, 2 Greenshanks, 5 Dunlins, Hobby this afternoon (John Parslow, Jamie Wells)

Grafham Water -OSPREY circling over west end at 4.05pm, drifting off westwards, also Hobby (Mark Hawkes)

Wicken Fen - SQUACCO HERON still, also 2 Avocets, Wood Sandpiper, 5 Ringed Plovers (Andrew Knights, Dave Fricker)

March Farmers - Ruff, Whopper Swan, 2 Turtle Doves, 2 Cuckoos (Paul Taylor)
