SPOTTED FLYCATCHERS

This is a request, please, to start looking out for birds now, and to let me know immediately you see one, whether ringed or not, at: spofl@cambridgebirdclub.org.uk

Our highest priority target, which we need to catch, are the geolocator-tagged birds with red metal rings. We need to download the tag data to see where the birds have been. Second in importance are our un-tagged controls, with blue metal rings. There will also be birds around which we have ringed as nestlings; these will just have an uncoloured silver metal ring.

Coveney - ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD again 1/4 mile south of village, ringtail Hen Harrier, Short-eared Owl (per rarebirdalert.com). Please view only from roads, do not access fields or farm tracks.

Earith - 2 PURPLE SANDPIPERS opposite Berry Fen briefly 10.30, Jack Snipe (per rarebirdalert.com)

Grafham Water - 2 Smew, Red-necked Grebe, female Scaup, 5 Red-crested Pochards, 5 Goosander, 2 Pintail (Jono Leadley, Mark Hawkes)

Perry - Egyptian Goose still (Mark Hawkes)

Fowlmere - ringtail Hen Harrier (Toby Austin)

Southey Wood - 5+ Crossbills (per rarebirdalert.com)
